Karen Sickles is a digital effects artist and a former employee of Digital Muse, while that company was contracted to do visual effects work on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. She served as the visual effects coordinator in 6 episodes between the two series; her work was uncredited.

Following Digital Muse's demise, Sickles would later work for ILM and Digital Domain, and be involved in creating the special effects for such films as How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Dreamcatcher, Hulk, I, Robot, Stealth, Superman Returns, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and the live-action Transformers movie.
