Karen Klein is a writer who co-wrote with her partner, Jack Klein, the initial teleplay for "Jetrel", a first season episode of Star Trek: Voyager in 1995.

After co-writing the teleplay for "Jetrel" freelance with Jack Klein, Kenneth Biller, a staff producer and writer on Voyager, did a page one rewrite of their script. (Cinefantastique, Vol. 27, No. 4/5, p. 63)

Klein had previously written an episode for T.J. Hooker, a series which starred William Shatner and James Darren. She had also written two episodes of Simon & Simon, which included Mary Carver in its regular cast. One episode written by Klein was directed by Star Trek: The Original Series director Vincent McEveety and featured Alexander Enberg and Ken Olandt as guest stars.
