Kara Zediker is the American actress who played T'Pau on Star Trek: Enterprise. She played the role in the last two episodes of the three-part Vulcan Reformation arc, "Awakening" and "Kir'Shara". Her image was also seen on a computer display in "The Forge", the first episode of the trilogy, although the image was added during that episode's post-production as the role had not been cast when it was being filmed. One of her costumes was sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1]

Zediker was born in Kankakee, Illinois. She made her screen acting debut in the 1992 baseball film The Babe, which also featured Star Trek: First Contact actor James Cromwell as well as Larry Cedar, Shannon Cochran, Danny Goldring, Michael Krawic, and Michael McGrady. She has only appeared in a handful of films since then, including 1999's The Sex Monster (co-starring fellow Vulcan actress Robin Curtis) and 2001's Rock Star (with Timothy Olyphant and Michael Shamus Wiles).

Prior to her role on Enterprise in 2005, Zediker had guest appearances on such television series as the 1990s remake of The Untouchables (starring John Rhys-Davies), Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (directed by James Whitmore, Jr.), and Becker (starring Terry Farrell). She also appeared in two episodes of The Pretender – one in 1996 with Gregg Henry and another in 1999 with her Enterprise co-star John Billingsley (as well as Paul Eiding, Natalia Nogulich and Harve Presnell).

In 2002, she had a recurring role as Elizabeth Nash on the hit FOX series 24, during which time she worked with such Star Trek alumni as Mina Badie, Jude Ciccolella, Zach Grenier, Leslie Hope, Penny Johnson, Glenn Morshower, and Wade Williams. She has since guest-starred on Whoopi Goldberg's Lifetime Television drama series Strong Medicine, the CBS series Joan of Arcadia (with Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Becky Wahlstrom, and Michael Welch), and the fantasy series Charmed (directed by James Contner).

Zediker is a member of the Buffalo Nights Theatre Company, as is her fellow Enterprise guest performer Maury Sterling. [2] In late 2002, Zediker and Sterling co-starred in their company's production of Robert Fieldsteel's Crazy Drunk. [3] [4] Her prior stage credits include Steppenwolf productions of A Summer Remembered [5] and A Slip of the Tongue [6] and the Buffalo Nights productions of Suburban Motel [7] and Anatol. [8] [9]

Since appearing on Star Trek, Zediker has guest-starred on the CBS crime dramas CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (with Roger Aaron Brown and series regular Wallace Langham) and Without a Trace (starring Enrique Murciano).
