Jupiter Outpost 92 was an outpost located on or in close vicinity of Jupiter.
In 2367, the outpost was the first to report visual contact with the Borg cube after it had dropped out of warp and entered the Terran system. (TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II")
According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia "an early version of the script for "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II," the story was still considered to be so confidential that each copy of the script was secretly numbered. The number of the Jupiter Outpost (in this case, 92) was different in each copy of the early draft script, so that if unauthorized copies were made, it would be possible to trace whose copy it came from."
