Jupiter was the king of the gods in Roman mythology. He was the god of the sky and thunder.
Neptune was worshiped on the planet 892-IV as well, but the Children of the Son considered him a false god.
The Jupiter 8 sports car was named after Jupiter. (TOS: "Bread and Circuses")
