Julianne Christie (born 9 April 1966; age 57) is the actress who appeared as Dexa in the Star Trek: Voyager seventh season episode "Homestead" and as Ah'len in the Star Trek: Enterprise first season episode "Unexpected".

Biography[]

Christie is named after the British actress Julie Christie (Julie is her birth name). Her nickname is "Jules". She is from Washington; she grew up in Kenmore and now lives in Vancouver in Canada. In her youth she was a keen jazz musician and appeared on stage in plays and musicals. After her move to Hollywood, where she studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she took the stage name "Julianne" to avoid confusion with her namesake.

In 1996, Christie appeared in the Eddie Murphy vehicle, The Nutty Professor (with Michael Rothhaar, Athena Massey, Tony Carlin, John Prosky, and Elliot Durant III, and stunts by LaFaye Baker, Eugene Collier, and Rita Minor). She also appeared in Bounce (with Ty Murphy) and California Man (1992, aka Encino Man, with Mariette Hartley and Erick Avari).

Christie also had guest roles in episodes of Nash Bridges, Public Morals, Grimm, Diagnosis: Murder, Smallville, Lucifer, and NYPD Blue. In the 2002 independent film, Shooting Stars (aka Shoot or be Shot), she stars alongside William Shatner and Scott Allen Rinker. She has appeared in various other indie and art house films.

These days in addition to film and television work, she teaches drama and performs in various plays. She has also been a presenter with NBC.
