The Juarez baby was the son of Francisca Juarez, a Starfleet officer serving aboard the USS Enterprise-D and her husband, Alfredo Juarez, who was also aboard the ship.

The baby was born the same time the Enterprise-D confronted the Romulan warbird IRW Devoras. Captain Jean-Luc Picard visited the Juarez child in the ship's nursery and personally welcomed him aboard. (TNG: "Data's Day")
