Template:Realworld Joseph "Joe" Michael Roth (born 14 December 1966; age 57) is a former actor and stuntman who made two background appearances in two third season episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. As a background actor, Roth received no credit for his appearances. [1]
Born in San Francisco, California, Roth portrayed supporting and background roles in the dramas Beau-père (1981) and Coup de foudre (1983), the thriller À mort l'arbitre (1984), the drama Rendez-vous (1985), the action thriller Ministry of Vengeance (1989, with Robert Miano), the television drama Terrorist on Trial: The United States vs. Salim Ajami (1988, with Stephen Lee, James Greene, Dakin Matthews, Darwyn Carson, Michael McGrady, Jeanne Mori, Richard Penn, and Cristine Rose), and Renny Harlin's action sequel Die Hard 2 (1990, with William Sadler, Ben Lemon, Colm Meaney, and Robert Costanzo).
Television performances include the series Crime Story (1987, with Bill Smitrovich and William O. Campbell), A Different World (1990), China Beach (1989-1990, along Jeff Kober, Robert Picardo, and Ned Vaughn), and Night Court (1990, with Bibi Besch, Andrew Hill Newman, and Eileen Seeley).
In addition, Roth worked as stuntman in the '80s and early '90s and performed stunts in the science fiction thriller The Running Man (1987, with Gene LeBell, Joel Kramer, Branscombe Richmond, and Tony Brubaker), the television action film Remo Williams (1988), the television pilot Alien Nation (1989, with stunts by Rick Avery), Warren Beatty's comic adaptation Dick Tracy (1990, with stunts by Gene LeBell, Randy Hall, and Gary Baxley), the television series B.L. Stryker, Quantum Leap (starring Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell), and Baywatch, and as stunt double for Nicolas Cage in David Lynch's crime thriller Wild at Heart (1990, with stunts by Ousaun Elam and Bernie Pock, and stunt coordination by Jeff Smolek).
