... as the alien criminal

Comic performer and writer Jonathan Schmock played the "disreputable" alien business partner of Shran in "These Are the Voyages...", the final episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.

Schmock is probably more well-known as a writer and producer for television sitcoms. He created or developed the TV series Brotherly Love and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and has written and produced for Blossom and Dharma & Greg. He was also an executive consultant producer for the AMC series The Lot, which starred TNG actor and "These Are the Voyages..." guest star Jonathan Frakes. It was his association with Frakes that got him the role on the episode. Schmock also directed episodes of this series, as well as for Dharma & Greg and My Wife and Kids.

As an actor, he appeared in the films Ferris Bueller's Day Off as the snooty Maitre D' (1986, starring Alan Ruck), Some Kind of Wonderful (1987, with Molly Hagan), and Surf Ninjas (1993).
