John Savage was born in Old Bethpage, Long Island, New York on August 25, 1949. He appeared on Star Trek: Voyager as Captain Rudolph Ransom in the episodes "Equinox" Parts I and II.
He is well known for his role in the 1978 classic drama The Deer Hunter as Steve. His other films include Hair, The Onion Field, Do The Right Thing and The Summer of Sam.
He has made guest appearances on The X-Files and Tales from the Crypt, and was a regular on Dark Angel.
