John Bruno directed the sixth season Star Trek: Voyager episodes "Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy" and "Fury". He also co-wrote the episode "Life Line" with Robert Picardo.

Bruno directed the 1999 science fiction film Virus. However, he primarily works on visual effects for films, including many from director James Cameron. He also served as visual effects supervisor for X-Men 3, starring Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, and Kelsey Grammer.
