Joe DiMaggio (1914-1999) was a baseball player for the New York Yankees, known by such nicknames as "Joltin' Joe" and "The Yankee Clipper".

Many rate his 56-game hitting streak - from May 15 to July 16, 1941 - as the top baseball feat of all time. This record wasn't broken until 2026, when it was outdone by London Kings shortstop, Buck Bokai. (TNG: "The Big Goodbye"; DS9: "If Wishes Were Horses")
