James "Jim" Samson is an assistant property master, set decorator and set dresser who worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Insurrection. On the latter one he was credited as Jim Sampson.

Samson worked in the art department of the romance The Accidental Tourist (1988), the drama Femme Fatale (1991), the television comedy For Richer, for Poorer (1992), the crime drama The Player (1992), the television movie The Witches of Eastwick (1992), the television thriller The Fear Inside (1992), and the television comedy The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom (1993).

His credits as set decorator include the comedy Camp Nowhere (1994), the television drama A Friend to Die For (1994), the drama One Night Stand (1995), the comedy Dunston Checks In (1996, starring Jason Alexander), the television movie A Different Kind of Christmas (1996), the television series Leaving L.A. (1997, with Cress Williams), the drama Gods and Monsters (1998), and the drama I'm Losing You (1998, starring Frank Langella).
