The Jewel stars were a group of stars located in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant, near Argelius II.
A starchart stored in the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) library computer depicted the location of the Jewel stars. (TNG: "Datalore")
The stars were never mentioned on-screen, their existence is solely derived from the chart, which was taken from the Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology. This non-canon reference work further describes them as "The jewel stars of Corona Major", Cepheid Variables who unexpectedly change brightness and color. They were a tourist attraction. Inspection of the image in the book suggests there are eight of them.
