He was also listed on a USS Voyager crew manifest as an ensign, displayed on a computer screen in 2374. (VOY: "The Killing Game" set artwork)
Ensign Fleck was named after first assistant director Jerry Fleck.
According to the text commentary for "These Are the Voyages..." by Michael and Denise Okuda, there was a Lieutenant Commander Jerry Fleck aboard the USS Enterprise-D circa 2370, and he was assigned living quarters across the hall from Counselor Deanna Troi. The character's name was placed on the door across the hall from Troi's quarters, on the rebuilt Enterprise sets. However the label was never visible on screen in the episode.
