He filmed his scenes for "Arena" on Friday 11 November 1966 at the fortress set near Vasquez Rocks and Tuesday 15 November 1966 at Desilu Stage 9.

Ayres was born as Gerald Hoyt Ayres Jr.. He would go on to become a regular on the soap operas General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful. He also had a recurring role in the first season of the television drama series Dynasty. He appeared in seven episodes, including the pilot ("Oil") and "The Chaffeur Tells a Secret", both helmed by "Obsession" director Ralph Senensky. The former also featured Peter Mark Richman, Lee Bergere, Ellen Geer, Julie Parrish and Paul Sorensen.
