Jenice Manheim (2364)

Jenice Manheim was a 24th century Human woman, the wife of eminent scientist Paul Manheim. She met him while he was teaching in Paris in 2342. She also had a relationship with Jean-Luc Picard while he was stationed there. He arranged to meet her at the Café des Artistes on April 9, 2342, the day before he was due to ship out, but never showed. She attempted to track him down, even looking for him at Starfleet Headquarters, but learned he had already left.

She continued to think about him from time to time, but didn't meet him again until, as captain of the USS Enterprise-D, he responded to Paul Manheim's distress call from Vandor IV in 2364. During the Enterprise-D's attempts to put a stop to the "Manheim Effect," she learned from Picard that he was too afraid to meet her that day.

Her husband had opened a window to another dimension, causing him to almost die, but when he recovered after the window had been closed, she agreed with him staying on Vandor to continue his work. This time however, she got a chance to say goodbye to Picard, courtesy of the holodeck. (TNG: "We'll Always Have Paris")

Michelle Phillips played Jenice Manheim, who at one point was named "Laura", according to the 'final draft' of the script, dated 22 February 1988.
