Jeffrey Kalmus (born 26 October 1968; age 45) is a digital imaging and visual effects artist who served as Digital Imaging Supervisor on Star Trek Nemesis when he was working at Digital Domain.

Kalmus began as a freelance photographer and assistant camera operator before starting a career in the visual effects industry in 1988. He worked as an optical assistant at Van de Veer Photo Effects before joining Boss Film Studios, where his tasks included making models for films such as Batman Returns, Cliffhanger, and Stargate.

In 1993, Kalmus joined Digital Domain, working as a digital recordist on the film True Lies and later as a scanning and recording supervisor on the films Apollo 13 and Strange Days. He then became the company's Color Grading Supervisor, overseeing the color grading for such films as Dante's Peak, What Dreams May Come, and the Academy Award-winning Titanic (for Paramount Pictures). From 2000 through 2002, he was Digital Domain's Digital Imaging Supervisor, a position he carried on such films as X-Men (starring Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, and Bruce Davison and directed by Bryan Singer), A Beautiful Mind (featuring Christopher Plummer), and Paramount's We Were Soldiers. Star Trek Nemesis was his last film project as a member of Digital Domain.

In 2003, Kalmus became the Visual Effects Imaging Supervisor at Cinesite-Hollywood, where he developed and applied new production tools in the creation of visual effects for the 2003 films X2 (X-Men United) and The In-Laws. Kalmus later helped create a new type of digital dailies system that was first employed for the 2003 film Looney Tunes: Back in Action (which features Robert Picardo, Dick Miller, Ron Perlman, and George Murdock, among others) while Kalmus was working as Imaging Supervisor at Warner Feature Animation.

Kalmus currently owns Creative Imaging Alliance, a production services company "that provides custom imaging solutions for all phases of motion picture production".[1] Some of the films for which this company has provided services are Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Flight Plan, and Evan Almighty.
