Janet Nemecek was the assistant script coordinator for Star Trek: Voyager for its first five seasons. She was also an assistant script coordinator on Star Trek: First Contact.

Under the name J. Kelley Burke, Janet and her husband, Larry Nemecek, co-wrote the original version of the story for the seventh season Voyager episode "Prophecy".

As an homage, Janet Nemecek's name was included in the USS Voyager crew manifest as seen in the episode "Projections", listed as a Starfleet officer.
