James J. Mapes (born 23 October) is a stage hypnotist, author, actor, and motivational speaker who had two supporting roles in two Star Trek films. Mapes has been married to actress Susan Granger who had a featured part in Star Trek Generations.

In May/June 1991 he filmed scenes as a Zelonite official for Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country on location at the Brandeis-Bardin Institute. Five years later he had a supporting part as Buster, a character in the Dixon Hill holoprogram, in Star Trek: First Contact but his scene was cut from the film.
