Template:Realworld James Kahn (born 30 December 1947; age 76) is a television producer and writer from Chicago, Illinois. He served as supervising producer on Star Trek: Voyager during its seventh and final season and also wrote for four episodes during his tenure.

Kahn's first work for Star Trek came when he co-wrote the story for the Next Generation episode "The Masterpiece Society". Discussing this episode in The Official Star Trek: The Next Generation Magazine, Kahn stated that "science fiction fulfills many of the same needs for wonder and awe that religion used to fill, but within the context of a more intellectualized, scientific framework. Science fiction has become the religion of our age." (Star Trek: The Next Generation Magazine #28)

Outside of Star Trek, Kahn was a co-executive producer, staff writer, and executive story editor for the Aaron Spelling primetime soap opera Melrose Place. He also wrote three episodes for William Shatner's TekWar. Other shows for which he has written include St. Elsewhere, Beyond Reality, and The Agency.
