James Gleason (born 30 September 1952; age 71) is an actor from New York City who portrayed Doctor Apollinaire in the Star Trek: The Next Generation sixth season episode "Time's Arrow, Part II". When not working on screen, he is a stage actor appearing in a number of plays and musicals, both on Broadway and the West Coast.

His Hollywood acting career began in the late 1970s with a role in The World's Greatest Lover (1977). Around this time, he joined an improvisational comedy troupe in Los Angeles called the Groundlings, which he was a member of from 1977-81. Other notable members have included Phil Hartman, Lisa Kudrow, Jon Lovitz, Paul Reubens, Will Ferrell, Craig T. Nelson, and Pat Morita.

Gleason appeared in several television series, including Quantum Leap (with Dean Stockwell, Scott Bakula, Brian George, and Richard Merson), The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., and Touched by an Angel. Movies he appeared in include Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993), Simone (2002), and American Dreamz (2006).

More recently, Gleason had guest parts in episodes of Dirt (2008, with John DeMita), Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008, with Thomas Dekker), Brannon Braga's FlashForward (2010, starring John Cho, and with Gabrielle Union), and Men of a Certain Age (2011, with Scott Bakula, April Grace, Todd Stashwick, and Shelly Desai). He also worked on the science fiction drama Awaken (2012) and the drama Stealing Roses (2012, with Jude Ciccolella and Bruce Davison).
