Jambalaya is a rice-based Cajun or Creole food dish, originating from New Orleans, on Earth. Benjamin Sisko was an expert at cooking the dish.

In 2370, Sisko prepared jambalaya for himself, Jake Sisko, Quark, and Nog while the boys investigated a planet in the Gamma Quadrant. (DS9: "The Jem'Hadar")

In 2373, Jake Sisko suggested to his father Benjamin that he should cook jambalaya for Kasidy Yates returning from six months in prison. (DS9: "Rapture")

Benjamin claimed in 2374 that his own father, Joseph, made a "fierce" jambalaya. (DS9: "Favor the Bold")

Jambalaya was frequently served at Joseph's restaurant, although he complained that his daughter never put enough cayenne pepper in it. (DS9: "Homefront")

Jake was able to deduce that the Romulans had agreed to attack the Chin'toka system in late 2374 as his father had not overcooked the rice. (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets")
