Horgahn

A horga'hn on display at Risa (2366)

The jamaharon was a rite originating on the pleasure planet Risa.

One's desire to participate in jamaharon was indicated by the display of a horga'hn, a small statue which was the Risian symbol for sexuality. (TNG: "Captain's Holiday") When Leeta asked Julian Bashir what jamaharon was, he told her "I'll show you later." (DS9: "Let He Who Is Without Sin...") Jamaharon with Arandis was the direct cause of the death of Curzon Dax. (DS9: "Let He Who Is Without Sin...")

When Quark showed a pair of Horga'hns to two Risian women in 2373, one asked him if he sought jamaharon. He replied that he sought "whatever you've got." Later, when an extremist group temporarily made life on Risa miserable, Arandis felt that what their leader, Pascal Fullerton needed, was "a little jamaharon," before correcting herself and saying, "No, a lot of jamaharon." (DS9: "Let He Who Is Without Sin...")

While on Tulgana IV in 2380, Ensign Brad Boimler was nearly seduced into jamaharon by a female Anabaj, before she was chased away by Ensign Beckett Mariner. Later, upon hearing that her Ferengi friend Quimp was headed to Risa with his wife, Mariner suggested that they try jamaharon. (LD: "Envoys")
