Kogan broke into acting when he was asked to audition for a Lasse Hallström film. The film ultimately lost funding and was scrapped, but Kogan continued to pursue an acting career. He became a regular on the MTV2 sketch comedy series Wonder Showzen, which aired in 2005 and 2006.
