J. Priestly was a Starfleet officer in the year 2370, the captain of the Federation starship USS Gallico.
Under his command, the vessel visited Starbase 58, and was due to arrive at Deep Space 9 on stardate 47554.5, according to an arrival roster recorded in that station's library computer. (DS9: "Whispers")
Captain Priestly was apparently named for Jason Priestley, star of Paramount Television's Beverly Hills, 90210. His name was not mentioned in dialog, but was simply listed in an okudagram graphic of an arrival roster on a viewscreen. The graphic was also populated by a number of other in-jokes.
