Italian food is that which has its roots in Italy. Rich in tomatoes and olives, a wide variety of hearty dishes can claim this title.

Admiral Kirk loved Italian food, or so he claimed when Gillian Taylor asked if he and Spock liked "Italian". Spock, however, claimed not to like Italian food. After a brief dispute, Kirk assured Taylor that they both loved "Italian". Spock agreed. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
