The It's A Wrap! sale and auction is an ongoing sale of Star Trek props and wardrobe items left over after the Christie's auction, 40 Years of Star Trek: The Collection. It is being conducted by It’s A Wrap! Hollywood, a memorabilia seller. The sale began 15 December 2006 and items are expected to become available over the course of six months.

Noteworthy Items

  • IAW# 1767, titled "STAR TREK I: THE MOTION PICTURE 'SPOCK' SPACESUIT", is an EV suits worn by Leonard Nimoy in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. This is currently (as of May 4th) the second highest-priced item to sell at US$10,100.
  • Satan's Robot, IAW

    Satan's Robot costume

IAW# 1140, titled "STAR TREK: VOYAGER 'SATAN’S ROBOT!' COSTUME", is the costume of Satan's Robot. It sold for US$4,658.00, the second highest item of week 6.
  • One MACO uniform, IAW# 0124 with the nametag "R. Azar", and two mirror-universe MACO uniforms, IAW# 0868 with nametag "C. Black" and IAW# 2078 with nametag "M. Romero". They sold for US$1,025, US$885, and US$1,075 respectively. There is also a mirror universe B. Moreno MACO uniform in there somewhere at IAW #0869.
  • IAW# 0925, titled "STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION 'WORF' NINTH PLACE TROPHY", Worf's bat'leth tournament trophy from the parallel universe in which he won ninth place; from TNG: "Parallels". It sold for US$1,341.
  • IAW# 0625, titled "STAR TREK I: THE MOTION PICTURE 'JAMES DOOHAN' 'CLASS-B' SHIRT", is a Star Trek: The Motion Picture-style uniform, but it is clearly not a shirt worn by James Doohan due to the incorrect rank and division insignia, although the costumer's tag on the item reads "James Doohan". The most likely explanation is that this shirt was worn by one of Doohan's sons, who were both extras in The Motion Picture. [1] After being offered in week 3 and not meeting the reserve set by It's A Wrap! with a high bid of US$1,625, the item was re-listed in week 15 and sold for US$3,450.
  • IAW# 1447, titled "KYLE RIKER'S ANBO-JYUTSU WHITE SUIT PLUS BONUS", and IAW# 1448, titled "COMMANDER RIKER'S ANBO-JYUTSU RED SUIT PLUS STUNT BONUS", are the suits worn by Mitchell Ryan and Jonathan Frakes in "The Icarus Factor" while their characters, Kyle Riker and Will Riker, sparred with one another in an Anbo-jyutsu match. Kyle Riker's (white) sold for US$395 and Will Riker's (red) sold for US$835 to two different buyers. (Perhaps the two will get together and have an Anbo-jyutsu match of their own.)

The first week of the auction had some high reserves and several of the items failed to match them. These high expectations are most likely due to the earlier Christie's auction items blowing away their estimates.

Future books

This week contains a set of three books that would have been seen in Hoshi Sato's quarters in "The Expanse" had that particular scene not been cut. These books must have been a gift from Crewman Daniels because while the episode was set in 2153, they have the dates January 2166 and June 2164 written on the spines! According to the description provided by It's A Wrap!, the texts inside are "Welcome to Paradise" by Laurence Shames for "Starfleet Language Conference, Monterey Proceedings – Ju 2164", "Divine and Human and Other Stories" by Leo Tolstoy for "Starfleet Language Conference, Tycho Conference – Ja 2166", and "The Frugal Gourmet Cooks With Wine" by Jeff Smith for "Starfleet Language Conference, Vulcan & Andorian Vocabulary". The books sold for US$511.57, item #0045.

Gutted Targ

A strange item this week, #0749, is a gutted Targ which hung from it's feet in the galley of a the IKS Somraw in "Sleeping Dogs". The item is made out of foam with resin teeth and fur added. It sold for US$750.

Another somewhat iconic item listed this week was a depleted phaser power cell from DS9: "Behind the Lines". It was used in a ritual which Benjamin Sisko performed aboard the Defiant. Later in the episode, Sisko was promoted and Jadzia Dax inherited the duty of performing the rtual. The item, #0697, sold for US$960.

The entry statement for #1410, Captain K'Nera's Klingon costume from "Heart of Glory", has a reference to Memory Alpha, in that the article here states the actor as David Froman, while the costumer's tag states 'David Freeman'. [2]

    5. 0959: STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION "ADMIRAL MARK JAMESON" JACKET – (US$1,025.00)

There was an irregularity of note this week. This week's listing for item #0987 appears to be a behind-the-scenes deal with the highest bidder of the listing for the same item in week 5 which did not meet the reserve price set by It's A Wrap!. The item is "STAR TREK: VOYAGER 'ALIEN' RACING SPACE SUIT", a suit worn by Assan's co-pilot in VOY: "Drive", which had a high bid of US$521.01 in week 5, and then was sold "Buy it now" during this week for the exact same price. A similar incident appears in week 16.

The entry statement for #2027, the Barash costume shown in "Future Imperfect", has another reference to Memory Alpha, in that the description for the costume states that here, Barash was portrayed by Dana Tjowander, while the costumer's tag states 'Dana Tjulander'. [3]

Vandor IV?

An interesting item this week was IAW# 2404, the "STAR TREK: ASTEROID". It is an 11-inch diameter special effects miniature which appears to have been Vandor IV. The description provided by It's A Wrap! does not specify what the item was used for. The item was bought for US$717.

Another strange (and therefor interesting) item this week was the pair of cloned potatoes from VOY: "Child's Play". They are not real potatoes, but painted cast resin models each set in a metal base. They sold for US$112.50.

Also sold this week were a couple of scripts: VOY: "Author, Author" (#2366, US$56.03) and DS9: "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang" (#2367, US$142.50).

Week 16

  • Started: March 30, 2007
  • Listings: 110

    4. 2429: STAR TREK: TNG TWO-PIECE STARFLEET UNIFORM – (US$2,225.00)
    5. 2437: STAR TREK: DS9 "CARDASSIAN SOLDIER" COSTUME – (US$2,158.00)

As in week 11, there is a "Buy It Now" item this week that was previously listed. Item #0035, "KLINGON HARD FOAM RUBBER BAT'LETH", was listed in week 2 and did not meet the reserve price set by It's A Wrap, then was listed in week 13 and apparently sold for US$1,558.25, but was re-listed in this week, and sold "Buy It Now" for US$1,533.25. This may be a behind-the-scenes deal with the second highest bidder of the week 13 listing.

There was also a very high-interest Dr. Bashir Starfleet uniform listed this week (Item #2495) which, after one day, had 17 bids and was up to US$1,175. It was inexplicably canceled, and the listing was completely removed from eBay.
