Iota Geminorum IV was the fourth planet in the Iota Geminorum planetary system. This was the homeworld of the tribble. Reptiles were the natural predators of tribbles on this world, and were known to keep the tribble population in check, which when removed to other environments bred uncontrollably. (ENT: "The Breach"; TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles")

In order to fulfill their self-given task to hunt the tribble species to extinction, the Klingons obliterated Iota Geminorum IV in the late 23rd century. (DS9: "Trials and Tribble-ations")

This information was not from dialog, but originated on a background graphic in Keiko O'Brien's schoolroom on Deep Space 9, first seen in DS9: "The Nagus".

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (pg. 64), the Iota Geminorum system was located in or near to Klingon space, in the Beta Quadrant. This system was a single star system. Primary was a Class G star with a magnitude of +1, which was a hundred times brighter than Sol.
