The Io Facility was a top secret large enclosed Section 31 spacedock in orbit of the Jovian moon Io. Shuttlecrafts entered the dock through a hatchway. When in use, this station was home to dockyard workers.
In 2259 in the alternate reality, the Federation starship USS Vengeance, that had also been constructed at the facility, was launched under the command of Admiral Alexander Marcus. (Star Trek Into Darkness)
