Invernia II was the inhabited second planet in the Invernia system. The planet was subject to ionic storms and had diplomatic relations with the Federation in the mid-24th century.
In 2351, Richard Bashir was a Federation diplomat on the planet. It was after witnessing the death of a girl on the planet that a young Julian Bashir decided to become a doctor. (DS9: "Melora")
