An intercooler matrix was a feature of Jem'Hadar attack ships.
In 2375, Bronok and four other members of the Cardassian Rebellion planted a bomb in a Jem'Hadar ship's intercooler matrix, despite the fact that Kira Nerys had told them to plant it in the secondary plasma relay. (DS9: "Tacking Into the Wind")
In dialog that was scripted for ENT: "Home" but not included in that episode's final version, Captain Erika Hernandez informed Jonathan Archer that delay in the starship Columbia's departure from spacedock had been (at least partly) due to a problem with the ship's intercooler matrix. Archer replied that a similar problem had occurred aboard Enterprise, shortly after that vessel had left Spacedock.
