"I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen" was a song sung by Kevin Riley while under the influence of the Psi 2000 intoxication, in 2266. The song was also briefly sung by Bobby to Yeoman Janice Rand, albeit with the lyrics "I'll take you home again, Janice". (TOS: "The Naked Time")

Lyrics Edit

I'll take you home again, Kathleen
Across the ocean wild and wide
To where your heart has ever been
Since you were first my bonnie bride.

The roses all have left your cheek.
I've watched them fade away and die
Your voice is sad when e'er you speak
And tears bedim your loving eyes.

Oh! I will take you back, Kathleen
To where your heart will feel no pain.

Background information Edit

The song was written by Thomas P. Westendorf in 1875. Although an American song, it is mostly known as an Irish ballad (it was based loosely on the Irish folk song, Blow Out the Candle. The song was performed by many artists, including Elvis Presley and Bing Crosby.
