A hovercruiser was a one-person vehicle which traveled above the ground. The vehicle was styled after standard motorcycles (which were still used in the 23rd century), and was ridden in much the same style. Instead of wheels, the hovercruiser used a technology to propel the vehicle without touching the ground.

Hovercruisers were used by police officers on Earth during the 23rd century to aid in law enforcement.

In the 2240s, a police officer used a hovercruiser to chase a young James T. Kirk who had stolen his step-father's Corvette. (Star Trek)
