According to K'mtar, Hitora colony is where Kurn had allegedly gone to in 2370. A message from the Enterprise would take days to reach the colony. (TNG: "Firstborn")
Given K'mtar's other deceptions, it is questionable whether Kurn did really go to the colony as claimed.
Presumably, Hitora colony is a Klingon settlement, although this has not been specifically stated on screen.
