Jean-Luc Picard playing hide and seek

Hide and seek was a game originating on Earth, where one person counted with their eyes closed while all the other players tried to hide from him. When the counter was done, they would go out and try to "seek" the other players.

This game was popular among children on cargo freighters in the 22nd century. In 2151, while Enterprise NX-01 was docked with the ECS Fortunate, three of the children were playing hide and seek. One child ran past T'Pol and hid behind an access panel. When the seeker came by and asked T'Pol if she'd seen Nadine, T'Pol simply responded that she didn't know which child was named Nadine. (ENT: "Fortunate Son")

In 2364, Commander William T. Riker asked for a security team to stop the lethal game of hide and seek between the Antican and the Selay. (TNG: "Lonely Among Us")

In 2365, Captain Donald Varley commented in his personal log that the USS Yamato and a Romulan cruiser had played hide and seek through several star systems. (TNG: "Contagion")

In 2369, to help Amanda Rogers learn to use her new Q-powers, Q played a game of hide and seek with her, while she tried to find him. Some locations he hid at were inside the warp core and on the outside of the ship's hull, reminding her not to think on such Human terms. (TNG: "True Q")

In 2370, while avoiding detection aboard the USS Rio Grande, a replicant of Miles O'Brien claimed he could "play hide and seek with the best of them." (DS9: "Whispers")

In 2372, Q was once again involved in a dangerous game of hide and seek, this time with Quinn who took the starship USS Voyager with him. This time Quinn took Voyager to hide in such places as the Big Bang and miniaturized, hanging from a Christmas tree. (VOY: "Death Wish")

In 2374, after Quark told Rom he had been looking all over Deep Space 9 for him, Rom joked, "Well, you found me. Now you go hide and I'll search for you." (DS9: "The Magnificent Ferengi")

In 2375, Captain Kathryn Janeway noted in her log that the crew of Voyager and the Devore inspectors had been playing hide and seek for weeks. (VOY: "Counterpoint")
