Hemophilia was the name given to a group of medical disorders that impaired the body's ability for proper blood clotting. It had various different forms, all which affected a different clotting factor in the blood.

The members of a ruling family in Earth's 18th and 19th century, called the House of Hanover had this disorder, or a specific type of this disorder. (TNG: "Loud As A Whisper")
