Hemocythemia refers to a medical condition where pressures within the cells of an organism are unstable, also known as hemocythemic imbalance. Osmotic pressure therapy was the standard means of treatment.
In 2372, Naomi Wildman was born with hemocythemia. Despite the Doctor's best efforts to save her, the child eventually succumbed to the condition due to equipment failure as a result of damage suffered to Voyager after its encounter with a spatial scission. (VOY: "Deadlock")
