Hemikek IV was a class M planet rich in minerals, the fourth planet in the Hemikek planetary system. This system was located in the Delta Quadrant. During the 24th century, the planets' mining rights belonged to a consortium of nonaggressive people.

In 2372, the USS Voyager was forced to divert to Hemikek IV in order to acquire some much needed verterium cortenide and monocrystal cortenum, due to the sabotage of Michael Jonas. Unknown to them, the Kazon-Nistrim were waiting to ambush them there with ground troops. Fortunately, Voyager was alerted of the plan and avoided the trap. (VOY: "Investigations")
