Heinrich James portrayed a Borg drone in Star Trek: First Contact.

James also had a small role in The Rocketeer, in which he co-starred with Paul Sorvino, Ed Lauter, and Tiny Ron. He also appeared in Benefit of the Doubt with Theodore Bikel and Patricia Tallman. James guested on an episode of Space: Above and Beyond with Michael Reilly Burke.

He made appearances on several television shows, such as NYPD Blue, The Pretender and ER. He guested on an episode of Spy Game with Keith Szarabajka. Don Stark appeared with James in an episode of Timecop. In a Seven Days episode, he guested along with Alan Scarfe.
