Heating coil

A heating coil is a device used to power cooking devices. Neelix obtained one as part of a trade with "Sister" Dala, which subsequently caused a shipwide system failure due to contamination leaking into the integrated circuity. Its discovery led to the knowledge that certain Starfleet officers were being impersonated. Its exact method of functioning is unknown. (VOY: "Live Fast and Prosper")
