Hamlin (German: "Hameln") was a city in Germany, known for its role in the folk tale "The Pied Piper of Hamelin".

In 2370, after an infestation of Cardassian voles on Deep Space 9, Julian Bashir sent Miles O'Brien a flute with the message: "It worked in Hamlin". (DS9: "Playing God")
