Hakton VII was the inhabited seventh planet in the Hakton system. This system was located in the Demilitarized Zone, in the Alpha Quadrant. This was the home of a Federation colony. In 2370, three colonists were killed on Hakton VII by Cardassians, who claimed it was in response to the Maquis bombing of the Cardassian freighter Bok'Nor. (DS9: "The Maquis, Part II")
"RACK-ton" was the pronunciation for this planet's name from the script pronunciation guide. [1]; however, according to Startrek.com, the pronunciation for Hakton was "HAWK-tun". Presumably, the planet was M-class. [2]
