Ha'mara was a Bajoran holiday celebrating the anniversary of the Emissary of the Prophets' arrival. Bajorans fasted to show gratitude to the Prophets for sending him to them. In the capital city on Bajor, there was a large light show, although Captain Sisko did not usually attend. (DS9: "Starship Down")
