Gimmie

"Gimmie" is a 21st century slang term for an inhabitants of the United States of America' Sanctuary Districts. They are useful members of society who need help finding work and a place to live. A service the Districts provide for them is to help find them job placements. Michael Webb and his son Danny were classed as gimmies in the 2020s. (DS9: "Past Tense, Part I", "Past Tense, Part II")
