Gil Kane (6 April 192631 January 2000; age 73) was a Latvian comic book author and artist for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and others. He was most well known for his work on the three issue anti-drug story line in The Amazing Spider-Man in the early 1970s and his depiction of Gwen Stacey's death two years later in the same series, as well as DC's second Green Lantern series (particularly Hal Jordan's adventures).

He did all of the interior artwork for #15, "The Quality of Mercy", of Marvel's Star Trek series.
