Gi'ral was a female Klingon. In 2346, she was living on Khitomer when it was attacked by the Romulans. A handful of Klingons, Gi'ral among them, survived the Khitomer Massacre and were taken prisoner by the Romulans. They were transported to Carraya IV, where Gi'ral later married the commander of the internment camp, the Romulan Tokath. They had a daughter together, Ba'el. Worf discovered their whereabouts when searching for his father. Imprisoned in the camp, he became attracted to Ba'el. Gi'ral sensed this and tried to discourage them. When Tokath decided to execute Worf who refused to accept his confinement, Gi'ral had Tokath stop the execution when their daughter joined Worf in front of the firing squad.
