George Washington (1732 – 1799) was a general and Commander in Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution. Perhaps his greatest victory was in 1781 at Yorktown; several starships were named after it.
He later served as a statesman who served as first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797 and was a key figure in early American history. The capital city of the United States of America, Washington, DC, would later be named in his honor. (TOS: "The Cage") His face would later adorn the rockface of the American landmark known as Mount Rushmore. (Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)
