George was a mutual friend of Ben and Jennifer Sisko. Ben and Jennifer met at one of George's parties on Earth while Ben was a cadet at Starfleet Academy; they would later marry and have a son, Jake. (DS9: "Emissary")

Although not explicitly stated on screen, George was presumably Human.
