A geological technician was a technician who specialized in the technical aspects of geology. They were often a part of away teams conducting geological surveys on planets.

Crewman Fisher was the geological technician aboard the starship USS Enterprise in 2266. He was a part of the geological survey of planet Alfa 177 when he injured himself in a fall and required transport back to the Enterprise. (TOS: "The Enemy Within")
